A vehicle’s battery supplies power to all the electrical accessories and necessary engine components that make things work. Most of the time this isn’t a problem, but if you actually use your vehicle, and you have a lot of electric add-ons that are drawing power, then you might have a problem.

“When lighting, sound systems, or other electrical components are sitting there drawing off of the battery, there is a chemical reaction that is taking place inside the battery. The deeper and more often the battery gets discharged, the stronger the chemical reaction is, and the shorter the battery’s lifespan will be,” explained XS Power Batteries‘ Brady Basner.

“Every battery has a certain number of charging cycles that it can go through in its life. Discharging the battery until its dead or continuously discharging a battery will dramatically lessen the number of cycles that the battery can use,” Basner added. “That’s why we developed our PSC line of power supply systems.”

According to Basner, XS Power Batteries Intelli-Supply Power Supply Centers (PSC) are a combined battery charger and reverse inverter system. Once installed, the system will allow 110 volt power supplied into the system to convert to a usable 12, 14, or 16 volts to power the vehicle’s electrical needs without drawing off of the battery. It also works as a battery charger.

This system prevents the battery from being discharged while you are at a car show and thumping your tunes while the engine is off.
