It isn’t a SEMA Show without Mom! Er, Mothers, that is. The company that’s synonymous with some of the best waxes, polishes, cleaners, and other items that make cars glossy and beautiful was out in force in the Central Hall, occupying a sizeable booth just ahead of Ford.
We caught up with Jim Dvorak, public relations and product specialist, to go over some of the newest additions to the Mothers lineup. This year, the hot-ticket items were the NuLens headlight renewal kit and Back to Black heavy duty trim cleaning kit.
“The NuLens headlight renewal kit is an all-in-one solution to restoring headlamps, polishing and renewing them to refreshed clarity,” said Dvorak. “Included in the kit is one of our patented Powerball Minis, structured specifically to tackle discoloration, scuffing, and other defects.”
“And if there are any other plastic lenses on your car that need attention, the renewal kit will work perfectly on those too,” continued Dvorak. “Sidemarker lights, fog lights, taillights, et cetera.”
Another attention-grabbing item from the booth was the Back-to-Black heavy duty trim cleaning kit, which was sure to please a lot of musclecar owners across the U.S. “The Back-to-Black product will take care of a lot of issues on the way to restoration,” said Dvorak.
“Think of it like you would as an owner of a recently-purchased musclecar, and maybe the previous owner didn’t take the greatest care of the car,” said Dvorak. “Oxidation, baked-on dirt, and so on are cleared off and pave the way for our Back-to-Black trim restorer, which will make those old trim pieces look like new.”
The restorer solution will work best on places like the textured surfaces around mirror trim, door window sills, the cowl, and basically anywhere that has plastic or rubber present. “It’s a rejuvenator for these old pieces of a car or truck, giving them a nice, rich look while offering UV protection as well,” explained Dvorak.
With products like these making the rounds in the near future, we expect to find a lot of kustoms and street rods looking fine in the sunshine. Check out more from Mothers online or on the phone below.
