When you think about bolt-on performance, a number of great companies come to mind, but CORSA Performance has to be towards the top of that list.
CORSA has already released a great X-pipe and axle-back exhaust system for the Stingray, with tips available in both traditional chrome and black chrome. They now have an available one-piece angled exhaust tip that is sure to give any Stingray a unique look.
With the exhaust readily available, I spoke with Craig Kohrs regarding an intake for the C7, which he happily explained, “The Stingray intake will probably come out at the end of the first quarter in 2015, as we are trying to make sure it works with both our exhaust system and the stock exhaust.”
In an effort to provide further options, Craig mentioned, “We’ll probably have a carbon fiber option for the Stingray, as it’s the type of materials people are coming to expect on a car like the Stingray. Ours will be a bolt-on application, making sure we get as much power out of the car as possible without having to tune it. It will work really well in conjunction with the exhaust, but both parts will work great alone as well.”
While the C6 intake pulls air from the center of the car, the Stingray air filter is located off to the passenger side. “Compared to the C6 design, the C7 intake will have to scoop down for cold air, but it will fit well within the tight engine compartment. Also, the MAF(Mass Air Flow) sensor is pretty sensitive, but we’ve really designed around it, and feel like we’re in pretty good shape.”
Aside from an awesome lineup of Corvette products and other domestics, CORSA is furthering its grasp into sport compacts and European cars such as the VW GTI and will surely bring their quality into these new markets.
