SEMA 2013: Kooks Leads the Way for 2014 C7 Stingray Exhaust

[1]When it comes to making power while keeping clean, Kooks’ Headers has been at the forefront with their “Green Cat” systems that prove that horsepower and low emissions aren’t mutually exclusive. At this year’s SEMA show, they continued that tradition by showing off their new exhaust system for the just-released C7 Stingray.

Featuring long tube 1 7/8- or 2-inch CNC mandrel bent primary headers with hand-ported 3/8-inch thick flanges, a 3-inch diameter X-pipe, and of course their Green cats, Kooks claims that this exhaust is good for 24 horsepower to the rear wheels with no changes to the factory tune, and as much as 39 horsepower with the right tweaks.

It bolts directly to the factory mufflers and features 304 stainless steel construction for durability. For those running their Corvette exclusively on the track, Kooks also offers a catless x-pipe for the ultimate in flow.

Another innovative feature that you’ll see on the C7 system, as well as Kooks’ other applications in the future, is the Torca integral OEM-style ball and socket connecting system, which replaces the typical two-bolt ball and socket setup with a single clamp. These new connectors take up less room under the car and offer better sealing and less opportunity for leaks down the road.
