Pulstar [2] is a name not many people will be familiar with, but their full line of pulse spark plugs is ever growing. They currently offer a spark plug for virtually every late-model musclecar out there, and they even carry a line of spark plugs for trucks and motorcycles.

What makes their spark plug so unique is the way that they’re designed. Other manufacturers design their plug to perform the simple task of creating a spark to ignite the combustion chamber. Dave Matheson, Pulstar Sales Representative told us that, “The Pulstar pulsar is designed to give you all the benefits of increased power with improved emissions.”
We were told thast Pulstar’s pulse plugs are specifically engineered to create a more profound spark. And reportedly they create up to 20,000 times the energy of any other spark plug on the market.
The idea behind a pulse spark plug comes form within. A miniature capacitor is built inside the plug to store energy to discharge into the fuel charge once the spark gap is ionized. Pulstars are engineered to create more horsepower, more torque, quicker throttle response, improved fuel economy, smoother acceleration, and lower emissions.
[3]You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at it, but the Pulstar pulser plug is not like any other plug on the market.
When we spoke to Pulstar in regards to what was new for this season, they were happy to report that they’re now available in a 10mm and 14mm socket size. From a vehicle standpoint, they’re available in all of the same applications as last year. Including musclecars like the Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, Charger and 300C.
Like most of the 2012 SEMA show, the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S were under the spotlight at Pulstar, and they now market a plug especially for them as well.
