SEMA 2012: Pertronix Adds New Applications

[1]

Pertronix [2], home of Doug’s Headers, Patriot Exhaust Products, and JBA Performance Exhaust, continues to add to their extensive catalog of applications, both for the track and the street. At this year’s SEMA show, we got a look at what’s new for 2013.

Swap headers are always a big seller for any exhaust company, and Pertronix is no exception. These headers from Doug's let you put the new Coyote 5.0 into vintage Mustangs and Falcons with an IFS conversion.

One of the challenges involved in building a set of long-tube headers for the C6 Corvette is the fact that there just isn't enough room to put the collectors where you'd like to get optimum primary tube length. These 4-2-1 headers solve that problem and make noticeable power compared to typical designs, especially in the midrange. Pertronix has seen such good results that they're working on a 5th Gen Camaro version as well.

Let's not forget that Pertronix' JBA "Cat4ward" line offer a complete selection of 50-state emissions-legal headers, including this 5th Gen Camaro SS "shorty."

Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Pertronix’ automotive ignition products too – While they’ve traditionally been known for their ignition modules, distributors, and coils for traditional V8 applications, they’re hard at work developing products for newer engines. Their coil-on-plug modules for Modular Ford applications are just the beginning; we’re told that individual LS-style coils are next in line.

Pertronix makes COP modules for (left to right) Ford 2-, 3-, and 4-valve Modular V8 engines that provide 15% more energy than OEM coils, all the way up to 11,000 RPM.
