SEMA 2012: Legendary Auto Interiors Shows Off Their New Rallye Seats

[1]Legendary Auto Interiors [2] has been providing interiors for General Motors, Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth, and American Motors for decades. At SEMA this year, they introduced two new Rallye seats they have added to their huge line of interior products. To say that these seats were nice is an understatement; they were everything that we’ve come to expect from Legendary with all the correct piping and hardware.

The two rallye seats Legendary had on display at the SEMA show were for the 1966-72 Buick Skylark/GS and the 1966-69 Mopar A & B body, including Dart, Barracuda, Sport Satellite, GTX Roadrunner, Charger, Coronet, and Superbee. The Buick rallye seat, shown in tan, is currently available, however, the Mopar rallye seat, shown in black, is expected to be available by January 2013. Both seats showed the attention to detail and the extent that Legendary goes through to with their products. The stitching was flawless and the piping was perfect, as well as the cutouts on the Mopar rallye seat.

We talked to Mike Saless at Legendary and asked about seat cover installation, for customers who want to buy the seat covers and do their own installation. Saless said, “Patience is going to be the key to installing seat covers. It’s not something that can be rushed, but customers should be able to install their own seat covers.” He and COO Brian Ridley told us that customers can contact Legendary if they have issues with installation, and that the sell the tools necessary to perform the installation.

[9]Ridley said, “We have an installation kit available that includes the foam, burlap and paper coated wire to complete the installation. We have installation guides and video links on our web site to help people with installation.”

Ridley also showed us their Custom Design Center [10]and LegendImagery on the computer, which allows customers to create their own unique look and select which upholstery colors, stitching, and for those who want to go Resto-Mod, they can download any design that they may want to have printed on their interior upholstery. The designs are printed to the material, and the design is as permanent as the color of the fabric itself, and will not scratch or peel off.
