We always enjoy seeing our friends at Vortech [1] when SEMA time rolls around, and this year was no exception. Highlighted in this year’s booth were two project cars – the 2012 Dodge Challenger Rockstar Edition, and the DSO Eyewear 2011 Camaro SS. We also got an up-close look at their new MaxFlow FPB (Fuel Pump Booster) in both Coyote Mustang and universal versions.
The MaxFlow FPB is a way to increase the capacity of a stock in-tank fuel pump under high demand conditions, eliminating the need for a high capacity external pump for many boosted applications. The FPB can increase capacity by as much as 50%, and utilizes an advanced microprocessor to control output voltage to the pump.
[6]Part Number 5A102-029 is specifically designed for the 2011-2012 Mustang GT (but can also be used as a universal booster) and has a fully programmable output curve, adjusted via a USB connection.
- MAP input
- Internal solid state relay to prevent key-off current draw
- Pass through circuitry allows normal system voltage under non-boost conditions
- Fully programmable voltage and current protection
Part number 5A002-030 is designed as a universal fuel pump booster and features a fixed voltage output configuration with on-board offset adjustability with a simplified design, and is available with or without universal installation hardware, a wiring harness, and relay.
