Lokar Uncovers New Drive-By-Wire Electronic Throttle Control Pedal

[1]
The folks at Lokar Performance Products [2] always have a lot of really unique and high quality components for the muscle car and street rod market, and at this years SEMA Show, they rolled out their brand new, unreleased Drive-By-Wire Electronic Throttle Control Pedal that didn’t just get the attention of show attendees, but SEMA judges as well, as it was awarded the Best New Engineered Product  in the show.

Lokar teamed up with Williams Controls – a world leader in heavy duty electronic control pedals – to design this new pedal that will be available for GM, Ford, and Chrysler applications in February 2011. It is the first programmable electronic throttle pedal on the market, and has a programmable, non-contact (solid state) hall effect sensor that will work with most domestic performance vehicles. A sensor programmed on the pedal optimizes the electrical output for ultra quick throttle response with no lag, which Lokar demonstrated with a connected throttle body at their booth.

Made from aluminum and stainless steel, the pedal has a splined pedal arm that allows for versatile mounting and can be installed as either a typical hanging orientation as seen here or turned over for a  floor-mount setup. As an assurance that you’re getting the highest quality of components, the pedal kit includes a wiring harness from Painless .
