PRI 2010: From Sprint Cars To Muscle Cars: Icon Pistons’ Forged Line

is at attendance here at PRI showcasing a wide variety of their popular forged piston designs that encompass an incredible range of engine makes and models. Icon produces their line of forged pistons from both 2618 and 4032 alloy, and according to Icon’s Marko Glush, the company develops all of its own machinery for cutting the barrels of the pistons.

Their line features fitted pins with a precision pinhole diameter and finish for maximum oiling at high RPM’s and polished piston crowns for efficient combustion. As well, Icon works closely with many top engine builders to develop a valve-to-piston clearance that provides the utmost in compression and performance.

[3]Icon’s forged pistons are manufactured with several different specific head designs, including d-cup, step dish, flat-top, circular-dish, step-head, and dome for applications encompassing virtually every major past and present auto manufacturer such as Ford, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and AMC.
