On Friday, June 14th, Grand-Am Racing hit the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio for the seventh race of the season, but while there were many manufacturers entered in the competition, the Corvette teams left little room for the success of other brands over the weekend.
After taking the win in the American Le Mans Series opener at Sebring, Corvette Racing dropped to a 4-5 finish at Long Beach just last month. But the season is far from over and the team is intent on proving their power for the remainder of the year, starting with their first-place finish at Laguna Seca.
For years, Forgeline wheels have been trusted to carry adrenaline junkies and even professional racing teams to the top of their games, and just last weekend, this was once again proven at the Road Atlanta Grand-Am Road Racing event when the Forgeline-equipped Stevenson Motorsports Camaro swept GS.
Corvette Racing finished 4th and 5th in the Tequila Patrón American Le Mans Series at Long Beach, and unofficially shares the top spot in Manufacturer Standings with BMW at 34 points. Looks to be a good start to the season on the heels of a first-place finish at Sebring for the No. 4 car.

On a recent balmy, sunny Southeastern Friday, just under 50 cars competed in the Grassroots Motorsports (GRM) 2012 Ultimate Track Car Challenge (UTCC). The event happens every year at the historic, scenic and exhilarating Virginia International Raceway, between South Boston and Danville, Virginia.

Corvette Racing went into the July 7th American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park with the hopes of better luck than they had at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and that’s exactly what they got for the full 2 hours and 45 minutes of racing Saturday, finishing in respectable 2nd and 3rd-place positions.

With Corvette Racing having a stellar start to their season, no one could have expected the less than ideal finishing places the team ended up with at the 80th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend. Unfortunately, things happen and the result on Sunday was a disappointing five-six finish for the team.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is just around the corner, with the race start happening less than a day from now, and Corvette Racing is primed and ready to defend their 2011 winning title. No one says that’s going to be easy but with the team now qualified, we’re expecting to see a well-oiled machine on Saturday.
On Saturday, drivers competed in the EMCO Gears Classic at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Chevrolet once again proved itself to be a heavy hitter with the Corvette Daytona Prototype, taking the first and third place podium positions at the end of the race. This event marks the fifth win for the Corvette DP.
In hopes of keeping with the tradition of amazing Le Mans finishes for the 2012 season, Corvette Racing recently participated in the Le Mans Test Day for the upcoming June race. Although things got a little bit hairy during the test session for rookie driver Jordan Taylor, the team seems to be in tip-top shape.
The Corvette Daytona Prototypes of Action Express Racing took first and second place at this weekend’s Detroit Belle Isle Grand Am 200. Joining the Corvettes in victory lane was the Camaro GTR of Autohaus Motorsports.
As many of you know, to celebrate the upcoming anniversary of America’s favorite sports car, Chevrolet has created the 60th Anniversary package that can be applied to any 2013 Corvette model, including the new 427 Convertible. But the 2013 Corvettes aren’t the only ones getting in on the action.
In just a few short weeks, Corvette Racing will make its glorious return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans where the team will attempt to hold on to their winning title for another year. But things have changed a bit, with the team bringing on rookie driver Jordan Taylor, who will test for Le Mans soon.

The team’s race to the 24-hour mark was cut short when, according to a Google-translated Jan Magnussen press article off of Magnussen’s website, with just 25 minutes left in the race, the HARIBO Corvette engine died with the Dane driving. At that time, the Corvette team was sitting in 16th place.
