Owning a Corvette was a lifelong dream of Ohioan Glenn Watson; one that became reality in 1997. but after his passing in 2003, his wife, son, and daughter-in-law are carrying on his legacy by meticulously maintaining his prized and one-of-a-kind 1974 GM Field Project Performance Car.

We’re not going to say this is the “CTS-V Cadillac should have made” because that gives too much credit to the average buyer. This car is for people with the rare combination of money, skill, and self-control to appreciate and take advantage of the enormous capability it offers.
It’s day two of Corvette Funfest 2011, with several thousand Corvette’s from all over the country expected to roll into Mid America Motorworks today, and Corvette Online will once again be bringing you all the sights from here in Effingham!
In 1972, the Dave Heinz-Bob Johnson racing partnership campaigned this 1968 Corvette at Le Mans – though officially not a “factory” effort, a little behind the scenes help from Chevrolet in the form of an L-88 427 engine and M-22 “Rock Crusher” transmission helped make things possible.
Callaway has long been a name associated with badass Corvette’s, and their 2011 Grand Sport 3LT package is certainly no exception. This particular car, a Grand Sport Convertible, comes packed with a long list of great add-on’s, giving it show and plenty of go.
The installation tent here at Corvette Funfest is one of the busiest stops for Corvette enthusiasts walking the grounds. Whether you want a new set of tires, new brakes, exhaust, or a myriad of other components, it can all be purchased and installed right here in this purpose-built tent.
The Wienermobile, built upon a converted Chevrolet 4-speed/W4 Series truck chassis, is powered by a 6.0 liter, 300 HP Vortec 5700 V-8 that runs on, ahem, high-octane mustard. Hey, we just print what we’re told.
The 2011 edition of the Mid America Motorworks Corvette Funfest, one of the largest gatherings of Corvette enthusiasts in the country, is underway, and we’ve got all the sights and stories from day one of this incredible and simply massive event.
Tom Hill, the Quality Engineering Manager at Chevrolet’s Bowling Green, Ky. Corvette Assembly Plant, delivered a detailed walkaround of the 2012 Corvette lineup this morning on the grounds of Mid America Motorworks and the Corvette Funfest, taking an in-depth look at all of the new features.

The LSX Rumble index class brought out a huge variety of different LS-powered cars and trucks, with everything from the F-Bodies, Corvettes, CTSV’s and GTO’s you’d expect to LS-swapped classic musclecars, former four-bangers like a Fiero and a Nissan 240SX, and even a particularly ill-fated rock crawler.

Last year, Lou Gigliotti of LG Motorsports broke the previous record time for Corvettes (3:33.47) in his mildly modified 2010 ZR1. Of course when we say mildly modified, what we really mean is Lou initially spec’d his car up by installing a few simple bolt-ons and the required safety equipment…

The 79th running of the 24 hour endurance race in Le Mans, France, was an event-filled affair and the Corvette Racing team was not exempt. Following the loss of the #74 Corvette, nearly 16 hours into the race, the #73 car was one lap down from the class leader. The team set about to re-take the lead.

In what has to be one of the fastest turnarounds for the ALMS circus, the Long Beach Grand Prix afforded little time for teams to adapt to the 1.97-mile, 11-turn temporary road course. Less than 72 hours after the paddock opened to all competitors, ALMS teams were loading their transporters to head home.
