If you own it, you should drive it. We’ve fit into that group of enthusiasts for years and aim to get every ounce of driving pleasure out of our project cars. That’s why we recently set our “Y2K” project Corvette up with a C5 Line Loc Kit and a LNC-002 Launch Control system from Lingenfelter.
Corvette Central Stage 1 through 4 upgrades have given Y2k 385 ponies to the rear wheels and a whopping 372 ft-lbs of torque to play with, but there’s no use in having power if you can’t take advantage of every ounce of it on the track. That’s why we decided to equip Y2k with a MSD LS 2-Step Launch Control.
As we found out from our experience with the SCT SF3 handheld tuner, there’s really no safer, faster, cleaner way to upgrade a late-model Corvette. With the diagnostic features, on-line updates, and the ability to load custom tunes from a professional shop, it’s a tool that has amazing potential.

Since the 1987 model year, Corvettes have come with tire pressure monitoring systems to keep tabs on the air pressure on all four corners. While it’s convenient (and a necessity for Corvettes equipped with run-flat tires but no spare), it’s easy to confuse the system when getting your tires changed.
